As I ended my March 11 exploration of the East End of Houston, where Navigation ends at a historic church, there is the small St. Vincent's Cemetery, the oldest Catholic Cemetery in Houston. The Diocese has owned the property since 1856, the church was built in 1912, with the oldest Catholic Grade School in Houston opened that year. The cemetery accepted its 1st resident in 1853, and is the final resting place for many famous Houston Pioneers. I then had a birthday dinner at nearby Original Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant, where Mama Ninfa gave birth to Texas Tex-Mex dishes in the early 70s...Fajita's anyone? :-D I also had a Caesar salad, 2 house specialty Margarita's, with Flan for dessert...all very much worth the $45 spent. :-D
