Here's your black, white, and gray things in nature fact of the day. ZEBRA SWALLOWTAIL BUTTERFLIES ARE GROSS!!! There. I said it. I bet I got your attention and you want to know why. They must lay their eggs singly on leaves and bark because their caterpillars are cannibalistic. The caterpillars also contain a yellow, foul-smelling, forked gland that pops out of their heads to deter predators. Adult butterflies will feed on nectar. That's not gross. They also like rotting fruit which is kind of gross. And they like to feed on urine! OK. That's gross!
