Here's your yellow things in nature fact of the day. While most other birds are making nests now, the American goldfinch will wait until late summer and even go as far as September before they make their nests. Why do they do this? They are seed eaters and that is the peak time to find the seeds they like the most to feed their babies. They also will line their nests with fluff from thistle plants. They can weave their nest so tightly that it will temporarily hold water and they attach their nest to supporting twigs with spider web. #yellow #birds #natureclub #americangoldfinch
